Come into the Garden!

Starts 16 May
250 British pounds
Long House Studios

What to expect

This is a five week course on 5 consecutive Fridays (with a break on June 6th), starting on Friday May 16th Long House Studios is surrounded by a beautiful garden, created by mother, the artist Jean Nicoll. In May and June it bursts into abundant life (!) and along with the orchard and vegetable patch, there is plenty to draw, paint and even print here, centred around a theme of flowers and plants. There are so many artists for whom flowers have been an abiding obsession, and we will look at many of them, from Fantin Latour to Blackadder, Van Gogh to O'Keefe, and get stuck in to observing, drawing, painting and responding to the beauty of flowers and plants. If the mood takes us and the weather permits, we may venture further afield, meeting up for the day in other gardens nearby. The course will progress in response to the discoveries and ideas of the participants, so come and join the adventure! This course is suitable for anyone who enjoys a creative challenge!
