Drawing into Painting

What to expect

This will be a wonderful week of drawing and painting in the landscape and the stunning surroundings of Long House Studios. We will consider different ways of working - en plein air with paintbox and brushes infront of the landscape, aswell as back in the studio having gathered what we need in sketchbooks, found materials, photography and note taking. Which method works for you? Once we have found our method and motif on day 1 & 2, we will spend the end of the week working on a painting (or paintings), developing our skills in colour mixing, composition and paint handling. There will be lots of discussion of our own work and the work of other artists, as well as plenty of opportunity for 1:1 support and tuition. You will need to bring your own paints with you. When you sign up for the course I will let you know what to bring. All welcome - beginners and experienced artists.
