Experimental Monotypes
What to expect
Come and enjoy a day of experimental monotype printmaking. Monotype printmaking is an exciting and immediate way of making prints which can be done at home on the kitchen table with minimal equipment. This one day workshop will introduce you (if you aren't already acquainted) to a variety of monotype techniques, giving the opportunity to try out transferring an image by drawing, stencilling, and painting directly onto the plate. Once familiar with the different techniques you will be led you through the process of moving from drawing into printmaking, and explore the possibilities of working quite intuitively and experimentally between the two processes. We will look at the monotypes of artists such as Degas, Matisse, Paul Klee and John Virtue for inspiration. Beginners and more experienced artists are very welcome. The cost includes all materials (inks and papers)
