What to expect

Come and enjoy a day exploring gelli printmaking. Gelli printmaking is an exciting and immediate way of making prints which can be done at home on the kitchen table with minimal equipment. This one day workshop will introduce you (if you aren't already acquainted) to a variety of gelli print techniques, giving the opportunity to try out the many different ways of transferring an image onto the plate. Once familiar with the different techniques you will be led you through the process of moving from image collecting into printmaking, and explore the possibilities of working quite intuitively and experimentally between the two processes. We will look at examples of artist gelli print and monoprints for inspiration. Beginners and more experienced artists are very welcome. The cost includes inks and papers, but you will need to bring your own gelli plate with you. It is possible to buy them or make them at home.
