Painting a Place with Agnes Treherne

We are delighted that Agnes Treherne has agreed to run this workshop with us. Agnes is a wonderful artist and teacher and it promises to be an exciting and inspiring course. Agnes writes: Poetry of Place This is a course where you will be encouraged to express your own vision of the landscape. We will look at work by painters for whom landscape is at the heart of their enquiry. From the Early Renaissance to the present; the breadth and vision of these examples will help heighten our sensitivity to the particularness of place, and encourage the articulation of a personal vision. These visionary stances will be tempered by formal considerations; participants will be lead through a series of drawing exercises within the landscape, to aid and inform a sustained work.
