Summer Young Artists
What to expect
These three days of intensive art will give young artists aged between (roughly) 11 and 18 the opportunity to learn how to draw and respond to the visual world, both outside in the landscape and in the studio . Each day will present a new challenge, always starting from close observation, but then developing in unexpected and creative directions, sometimes working independently at other times in collaboration with others. Students will investigate the work of great artists and learn how to analyse and respond to their work. They will have the opportunity to work in a range of media including drawing, painting and printmaking. By limiting the number of students to 8 there will be plenty of space and opportunity for individual tuition. The week will be led by Louise Sturgis who has years of experience working with young artists. She has an up to date DBS check. All materials included. Students will need to bring a packed lunch. Sadly we don't have room to put people up, but there is a nearby camping barn, campsites and other accommodation (see accommodation page).
