What to expect

This is the ideal course for anyone who would like to learn or improve their drawing and painting skills. It runs from 2.00 - 4.30 pm each Thursday. It is arranged in three, ten week blocks, which can be booked separately but which will offer you the possibility of progressing from one to the other. The first ten weeks will be a structured course, introducing students to drawing in different media whilst exploring markmaking, tone, scale and space. From drawing in monochrome we will progress to colour, colour mixing, composition and painting. Each week's session will be rooted in the careful analysis of the work of great artists, past and present. The small group will allow for 1:1 guidance and tuition according to individual needs. Everyone is welcome. Perhaps you are a complete beginner, or you have a box of art materials neglected in the cupboard, or you are an enthusiastic artist who would value the impetus of a weekly commitment.
