Thursday Morning Landsape Course

What to expect

This course will run over six weeks from Thursday May 15th to Thursday June 26th, with no class on June 5th. May and June are (usually!) two of the most beautiful months in Kentmere, as the trees burst into life and the verges are filled with wild flowers. This six week course will take advantage of the amazing landscape we are surrounded by and give each of you the tools and confidence to work in and from the landscape. Inspired by Cezanne, who insisted that working from nature was essential for an artist to discover their true expression, we will explore different approaches to landscape drawing and painting, both directly in front of the motif and back in the studio. By the end of the course you will have completed a series of landscape drawings, paintings and studies and be ready to spend the rest of the summer 'en plein air'! Everyone is welcome. Perhaps you are a complete beginner, or you have a box of art materials neglected in the cupboard, or you are an enthusiastic artist who would value the impetus of a weekly commitment.
