Sketchbook Weekend with Nick Bush

What to expect

Nick Bush will return to Long House Studios to run this course, a lovely opportunity to be outside in the beautiful landscape of Kentmere. The course aims to help you find your own 'sketchbook practice', exploring your own language and method of recording ideas, memories and observations. You will be outside (weather permitting), discovering the lanes, woodlands and hills of Kentmere and encountering the changing mood of your surroundings as the days unfold. By recording your experience in a sketchbook you can discover ways to capture the fleeting changes in light, an unexpected incident, or the constantly shifting views. You will be encouraged to experiment with a range of media. Each day will start with looking at the sketchbooks of artists such as Turner and Constable, Van Gogh and Bonnard, Henry Moore and David Hockney, which will be provide you with a focus and challenge for the days work.  Please bring suitable clothing and footwear for being outdoors.
