What to expect

This course is designed for those who have completed The Artist's Year, Year 1 The purpose of this course is to build on your learning from Year 1 and to continue to develop your own practice in a supportive and structured environment. The year will be devoted to your developing your own practice and individual direction. Rather in the nature of a degree course, you will be expected to bring your own ideas to the table, exploring and expanding them in your own time whilst responding to and challenging feedback from your tutors and fellow students. The weekly sessions will be designed in response to the work produced and the demands of the group, and might include skills workshops (printmaking, life drawing, colour theory), experimental sessions, art history discussions, opportunities for collaboration, field trips and gallery visits. It will be the responsibility of the tutors to challenge, cajole and nudge each of you to take risks, discern your inner voice and become experts. And of course, The Artist's Year, Year 2 will provide you with the time, support and friendship to rise to every challenge and surprise yourselves! The course will run on Wednesdays from 10am to 4pm Term dates: October 7- Dec 17 (half term Nov 11) Jan 13 - Mar 24 (half term Feb 17) April 21 - June 30 (half term May 26) To secure a place on this course please pay a £200 deposit. We can then discuss payment options, including termly/monthly installments. NB By booking on to this course you commit to the whole year's payment. There may be an option to order materials at cost price. If you have any questions or would like more information email enquiries@longhousestudios.org
