What to expect

This is the ideal course for anyone who would like to learn or improve their drawing and painting skills. The term will be organised around a theme (yet to be decided!) It will not be the same as last year, so if you are a returning student we will be doing something new. Each week will start with an introduction to the focus for the session, looking at and learning from the work of great artists of the past and present. You will be guided from drawing to painting, exploring the endless possibilities of visual language and developing your observational skills as well as your knowledge of colour, composition, markmaking and picture making. You will learn about the characteristics of different drawing materials and paints . The small group will allow for 1:1 guidance and tuition according to individual needs. Everyone is welcome. Perhaps you are a complete beginner, or you have a box of art materials neglected in the cupboard, or you are an enthusiastic artist who would value the impetus of a weekly commitment. Whoever you are, join us!
